Never too old to play
While the new playground at Elsternwick was originally designed to cater for the Junior School students, it’s been no real surprise that even the Middle School students have found it irresistible. Responsive to the needs of a campus which uniquely caters for students 5 to 15 years old, the initial educational brief revolved around the interests and developmental stages of the Prep to Year 4 students. The varying heights and stimulating features of the structure have more than satisfied the aim for the new equipment to provide challenging features, stimulate curiosity, encourage interaction and ensure lots of fun.
With quality finishes and the use of durable wood and aluminium, the playground has added colour and interest to an area shared by the two mini-schools. Vibrant modern colours, soft surfacing and a range of features to develop gross motor skills were a priority. The result of the exceptional design is that students of all ages rush to play on it throughout the school day!
