At the 2025 APS Regatta at Nagambie Lakes, six members of Wesley College’s legendary 1965 First VIII crew reunited to mark the 60th anniversary of their historic Head of the River victory.
Thanks to ‘The Social Ramble’ bus service and support from the Old Wesley Collegians Association and the College, Stephen Bennett (OW1965), Chris Manson (OW1965), Robert Price (OW1966), Peter Sandow (OW1966), Mark Stephens (OW1965) and David Troon (OW1966) travelled north to join the celebration.
As honoured guests of the APS Delegates Committee, they enjoyed a special luncheon overlooking the finish line alongside other past champions. It was a day to reconnect, reminisce and reflect on the enduring bonds forged through rowing.
Watching the current rowers compete, the 1965 crew shared memories of their challenges and teamwork, inspiring all with their timeless dedication. Their presence celebrated not only a past triumph, but the ongoing legacy of excellence and camaraderie that defines Wesley College rowing.
