The summer of 2025 will be remembered as a season of growth, achievement and historic milestones for Wesley College sport.
But the standout moment of the summer was our historic victory in Boys’ Volleyball - APS Premiers for the first time in Wesley College history, sharing the title with Melbourne Grammar.
In the final match of the season against ladder leader Melbourne Grammar, our boys showed the same determination that earned them a gold medal at the 2024 Australian Volleyball Schools Cup on the Gold Coast last year, coming from two sets to one down and holding their nerve to win the fifth and deciding set 15-12 to finish joint premiers.
Coach Mick Stevens was overwhelmed with emotion after this historic victory. ‘The fighting spirit of this team was incredible. They had to face some big moments and showed great maturity under pressure. The belief they had in each other carried them through every challenge, achieving the goal they set for themselves at the start of the season. I am immensely proud of this incredible group.’
