OW Cross Country

Adam Pyke (OW2013) being presented with the '2023 Athlete of the Year'

The 2023 Cross Country season concluded in September. The OW team had several highlights this year including Adam Pyke (OW2013) taking out the award for '2023 Athlete of the Year' for the overall competition for the second year in a row. Adam had an amazing season as the fastest athlete in nine of the 12 events.

The Club Championship result saw the OW Open team placed 6th overall which was a solid result given our smaller size compared to some of the larger clubs that can field multiple teams in the Open division. This result is something for us to build on in the 2024 season.

OW baton change at 'The Tan' relays

OW Cross Country competes against ten other APS collegian clubs in the Associated Public Schools Old Collegians Amateur Athletic Association (APSOC). The season runs from April to September and includes both on and off-road events ranging from 4km to 21km with the option to choose between longer and shorter distances in several events. Five of the events over the season have a team format with the combined results of teams from each club counting towards the club championship result and two of these events are relays.

We are always keen to welcome new runners of all abilities. Family members of Collegians and current students are also welcome to run with the OW club. The 2024 season will kick-off next April.
