Boathouse Donors Event

Our Boathouse Donors

The Wesley College Foundation was pleased to host an event to thank donors on Saturday 11 December coinciding with the launch of Wesley’s rowing season.

It provided an opportunity for Nick Evans and Nicki Lefkovits to personally thank our generous donors, and for Matt Ryan to update them on achievements from the 2021 season and the positive plans for the year ahead. It was a wonderful day filled with great hope and optimism for the future of rowing at the College.

At this event, the Lavery Family, Nick (OW2016), Rohan (OW2018) and Zara (OW2021), and their parents Julie and Martyn, donated a framed Australian Olympic 'zoot suit' from the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.

The 'zoot suit' was presented to Principal, Nick Evans and Head Coach Matt Ryan, a dual Olympian and Olympic medal winner.

Both Nick and Rohan Lavery were members of the Australian Rowing Team. Nick competed in the Men’s Eight, with the Australian Team going through to the Final. Rohan was one of two travelling reserves for the men’s team who competed against other nations' reserves. The Australian Olympic 'zoot suit' is signed by Nick and Rohan and will form part of the memorabilia of achievements of alumni rowers at the newly renovated Yarra Boatsheds.
