Girls Firsts Soccer team secure historic win

For the first time in Wesley’s history, our Girls Firsts Soccer team has secured the APS premiership.

Our girls were undefeated all season, scoring 72 goals in just nine games to defeat second-placed Haileybury in the final. What an incredible achievement!

Team Captain, Priya Savarirayan, reflects on this momentous victory:

‘It was a great experience and I’m glad that I got to share it with such a great team. In my six years of playing Firsts soccer, I have never experienced such an amazing season. Winning the premiership was a special moment and I knew from our first game that we were going to be one of the strongest teams in the competition this year.'

'I want to thank our coach, Christie, for being super supportive and leading us to this success. I also want to thank all the girls in the team for creating such a positive environment and more importantly, creating a legacy for years to come!’

Samuel Young, Head Coach of Soccer described the Girls Firsts team as 'a brilliant group of players with so much quality and on-field chemistry. The calibre of soccer delivered was evident with the team scoring an incredible 72 goals in just nine games.'

‘I'd like to congratulate coach Christie-Lee Tsakos, the players, parents and Head of Sport, Dan Church, for the support provided this year. Let's do it all again next season.'

Well played, team! We are very proud of you all.
