Wesley rowing squads give their all at Head of the River

Wesley’s Girls and Boys Rowing squads ended a season of intense training at the APS Head of the River rowing regatta on Nagambie Lakes

A season of intense technical, strength, flexibility and endurance training for the Girls and Boys Rowing squads culminated in the APS Head of the River rowing regatta on Nagambie Lakes at the close of Term 1. Wesley’s Girls and Boys Rowing squads gave their all at the APS Head of the River rowing regatta on Nagambie Lakes. In hot and windy conditions, both First VIIIs made the division one finals. Wesley’s Girls First VIII placed third in the division one final in a time of 6:58.33, while the Girls Year 10 and Year 9 crews in the Coxed Quad Sculls finished with strong performances.

On and off the water, Wesley’s crews learned about teamwork, commitment and accountability in an environment of strong camaraderie

The Boys First VIII placed fourth in the division one B final in a time of 6:29.34, while the Boys Open Coxed IIII placed second in its final in a time of 3:31.52, and some strong finishes by the Boys Year 9 crews in the Coxed Quad Sculls showed plenty of promise.
