Melbourne Writers Festival

This year’s Readers and Writers Festival tied in with Wesley’s exclusive partnership with the Melbourne Writers Festival. The school hosted writers to reflect the festival’s Appreciating diversity in how we read, write and communicate theme. Our guest speakers presented on diverse topics such as:

• Emilie Zoey Baker on poetry slam

• Amie Kaufman on fan-and science fiction

• Santilla Chingaipe on working in media and documentary filmmaking

• Sami Shah on using humour to connect with others

• Brodie Lancaster on pop culture
• Bernard Caleo on graphic novels and illustration
• Declan Fay encouraged our students to make use of every opportunity and to not leave school wondering ‘what if’
