Founders Day Celebrations

At this time every year Wesley College reflects on the foundation of the school. Put simply, we pause to honour our founders and their vision as we ponder the future. In 1866, Wesley College was ‘founded’ when the doors opened to a new school.

Founders Day Celebrations

Founders’ Day was introduced by Mr Lawrence Arthur Adamson who was the Headmaster of Wesley from 1902-1932. He was our longest serving Principal. He was devoted to promoting school spirit and was determined that Founders’ Day should be celebrated in splendour and style.

Founders Day Celebrations

This year we continue the school spirit with special assemblies held at each campus to mark Wesley’s founding day including guest speaker Waleed Aly (OW1996), appearances of ‘Wes’ the lion, and entertainment by our music ensembles who managed to get many students and staff up dancing.
