World class art exhibition
The Yangtze River Delta at Nanjing, Claire (OW2015)

Wesley’s International Baccalaureate students are set to show their creative talents in the International Baccalaureate (IB) Visual Arts Exhibition 2016. The exhibition will showcase diverse and exciting artwork from IB Diploma Programme Visual Arts students from both Glen Waverley and St Kilda Road in 2015.

The ten Wesley graduates exhibiting are Kimberley, Claire, Rhian, Orson, Fleur, Samuel, Wyatt, Thales and Shalom.

Through the IB Diploma Programme Visual Arts program at Wesley, students are challenged to question their creative and cultural expectations and boundaries. Problem-solving and divergent thinking are encouraged all while honing their technical skills. Wesley’s program doesn’t just teach students how to make art, but also shows them how to appreciate, enjoy and respect artworks from all over the world. The course also has a large focus on international art appreciation, to give students a better contextual understanding of the industry they hope to join in the future.

The artworks on display are selections from our student’s own exhibitions. This exhibition will not disappoint and is a great reminder of the wonderful and talented individuals, both students and teachers, we have at Wesley College.

The exhibition is on display at the Glen Eira Gallery from 11-28 February
