Gold for our athletes

Gold for our Athletes
Leteitia Presser, Tea Wittey and Sophie O'Sullivan representing Wesley College at the 2015 Junior Track and Field Championships

Wesley College was recently represented by 19 students at the 2015 Victorian Junior Track and Field Championships, held at Lakeside Stadium, Albert Park. In total our athletes won 24 medals and 9 gold medals, an impressive achievement by all involved. The girls Under 15 800 metres made for a particularly exciting event, with Wesley College students Leteitia Presser, Tea Wittey and Sophie O'Sullivan earning a clean sweep and were placed first, second and third respectively.

Danielle Shaw and Nana-Adama Owusu-Afriyie won gold medals and personal bests in the Under 18 100 metres hurdles and the Under 18 100 metre sprint, but just missing out on qualifying for the World Youth Championships in Columbia later this year. However, both will have more opportunities to qualify in the coming months.

Congratulations to all students involved, and particularly those who achieved qualifying times for the Australian Junior Championships to be held in Sydney later this year.
