Australian Schools Knockout Championships

Australian Schools Knockout Championships

Athletes from Wesley College recently competed in the Australian Schools Knockout Championships in Adelaide. This unique competition gives students the opportunity to participate in team and individual events across three age groups. A performance-based scoring system allocates points for fixed time or distance standards, allowing teams to go head-to-head across various events where every centimetre and split second for each team member counts.

Wesley was thrilled to have four teams of students qualify for the championship, the most of any school in Australia.

All students were competitive on the day, with the junior girls’ team giving an outstanding performance and were named the 2014 National Junior Champions. The team members were Ella Squires, Caitlin Pinto, Leteita Presser, Sophie O Sullivan, Nela Debicki and Georgia Wyett.

Wesley is delighted that all students involved represented the College so well and congratulates, in particular, the junior girls’ team for their outstanding achievement.
