Winning note

Wesley College students recorded excellent results at national all schools athletics meetings in December.

We look forward to seeing our students excel across all sports in 2016, in what promises to be another very exciting year.

Wesley athletes competed in the National All Schools Championships in Melbourne in walking, sprinting, hurdles and long jump, with the following highlights:

• Jemima Montag won the 5km walk in a record time of 23 minutes 13.04 sec, which qualified her for the World Junior Championships in Oregon in 2016
• Danielle Shaw won the Under 18 100m hurdles in 13.63 sec

The National All Schools Knockouts for athletics in Melbourne saw the Wesley Junior Girls’ Relay team of Grace Goldsworthy, Caitlin Pinto, Sophie O’Sullivan, Leteitia Presser, Georgia Wyatt and Alinka Carmichael, claim third place, only 9 points behind first place.
