United Nations Youth Conference

St Kilda Road Year 11 students, Jasmine Valcic and Jessica Carlisle-Goldblatt have been selected to represent Victoria at the 2014 United Nations Youth Conference in July. Over 100 young people from across Australia and the Asia-Pacific will come together in Canberra to discuss a diverse range of international and local issues. Over the course of the week, delegates will have the opportunity to engage with national leaders in international relations, participate in interactive workshops and formally debate questions of global importance.

Organised by members of the UN Youth division, and assisted by the UN Youth Australia National Executive, the conference aims to create a generation of informed young Australians who are passionate about the world around them.

Jessica and Jasmine are looking forward to learning how Australia and other nations work to enact change through the United Nations and other multinational forums, as well as developing “skills necessary to advocate change in their own communities”.

Wesley College congratulates Jessica and Jasmine on their exciting achievement.
