Cross country champion

St Kilda Road Year 7 student, Adam Spencer, has won the Under 14 Boys 3km race at the recent All-Schools Cross Country Championships. Adam covered the course in an impressive 10 minutes and 14 seconds, beating 150 competitors to the finishing line. The 12-year-old’s victory has earned him a well-deserved spot in the Victorian team for August’s National Cross Country Championships in Albany, Western Australia.

This is the latest in a number of outstanding athletic achievements for Adam. Earlier this year he won the 2013 School Sport Victoria Cross Country Award. He is also a state champion and national record holder in the 800 metres, and a state champion and record holder in the Victorian Little Athletics 200 metre and 400 metre events.
