An artist's journey

Generously supported in part by Wesley College, St Kilda Road Visual Art teacher, Anne Ryan, attended a four week Fellowship Creative Time Residency  in September which was awarded to her by the May Gibbs Children’s Literature Trust. Fellowships offered by the Trust  aim to support published children’s authors and illustrators and promote the creation of contemporary Australian children’s literature.

Creativity was “very welcome” in Anne’s family when growing up. Anne’s childhood days were “filled with endless hours of drawing, writing and making things”. These memories inspire her to “be with young people to create stories, make art and wade in the creative process.”

Watch Anne’s new video which explores an artist’s journey in search of her inner voice as a children’s book author/ illustrator.
