Big Science at Wesley

Big Science at Wesley

Students from Wesley College have received some outstanding results from the annual Big Science Competition, run by Australian Science Innovations. Over 230 students across the College’s three metropolitan campuses (Elsternwick, Glen Waverley and St Kilda Road) sat the one hour paper over the three year level categories, each containing 30 multiple choice questions. All 30 questions aligned with the Australian curriculum and were designed to challenge students to think critically and solve scientific problems using everyday examples.

Excellent results were received across the College, including a total of 22 High Distinctions (score of 95% - 100%) and 44 Distinctions (85% - 94%) amongst the scores.

Adding to these wonderful results, Daniel Williams, a Year 11 student at St Kilda Road campus, has been selected from a pool of 1,300 applicants to attend the 2014 National Youth Science Forum in January. There he will learn how to make informed decisions about courses and careers in the sciences field, all whilst gaining a professional skill set to help him realise his potential.
