Celebrating Founders’ Day 2019

Last week the College celebrated Founders’ Day, a day instituted by former Headmaster Mr Lawrence Arthur Adamson to commemorate the foundation of the school in 1866. An opportunity to reflect on the College’s rich history and the opportunities that lie ahead, Founders’ Day brought students together at a series of assemblies across all campuses.

Kenneth Park, College Curator of Collections, summed Founders’ Day up as being an opportunity for the College community to reaffirm its commitment to a True Education. ‘Wesley has always managed to fuse tradition with innovation. Over the decades the College has evolved to meet, or exceed the expectations of the day. The words of our motto – Sapere Aude – “dare to be wise”, fittingly encapsulates this ethos,’ Mr Park said.
