A Midsummer Night's Dream
Standing up for Shakespeare at the Malthouse Theatre is always special, and this year’s Glen Waverley Senior students’ performances of ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream’, in one of Melbourne’s iconic professional theatre venues, upheld the tradition of excellence with which the event has become synonymous.
Each student is to be highly commended on their commitment to the project, and the quality of their role creation. Standing up for Shakespeare is not a traditional drama class, but one that studies language and text by standing up and participating.
‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream’, with its elements of magic, romance and comedy, is a joy to study. The students relished their respective parts, and the challenge of bringing to life wonderful characters in beguiling circumstances.
