SPORT
We have begun the school sport year with excitement and enthusiasm.
Junior APS Sport for Years 5 and 6 is a new program that includes the choice of Cricket, Softball, Table Tennis, Tennis and Swimming in Term 1.
We train on a Monday afternoon during period 6, with an extra pool session for our swim squad offered at the St Kilda Road pool on a Monday morning. We will compete against the 11 other APS Schools each Wednesday across various school locations in the area.
Other opportunities:
Swimming – trials for our Junior District swimming squad have begun, with the College team to be finalised in the next week. This team will represent Wesley on 23 February at the MSAC pool.
Year 7-9 APS Sport
What sports are offered: Cricket, Diving, Rowing, Softball, Swimming, Table Tennis, Tennis, Touch football and Volleyball.
When: Students generally train twice a week on Tuesday and Thursday, with some sports training on a Monday or Wednesday. Buses depart the Elsternwick campus between 3.00pm and 3.15pm and return at 5.30pm (later for some sports including First teams and Rowing).
Where: Students train either on campus, at St Kilda Road campus, at the Yarra River, Albert Park or Dendy Park, depending on the sport selected.
