Daisy Noussis had an outstanding competition winning the 100m, 200m and 400m. She was the only female to win the treble at the championships!

Bruce Dusmez won silver in the 200m, followed by fourth in the U/17 100m.

Khushi Deol won bronze in the gruelling 2000m steeplechase.

Johannes Thokchom won gold in shot put, silver in the discus, fourth in the 100m and fifth in the 200m, as well as competing in the javelin.

Lachie Falconer-Boag finished sixth in the U/20 200m finals.

It was great to see Issie Falconer-Boag competing in the discus after a serious injury.

Bailey Morrell placed in the top eight in the 800m and 1500m events.



St Kilda Road results

Wolfgang Cotra Nemisi won the U/18 800m and U/18 1500m double and has qualified for the World Junior Championships to be held in Columbia in August 2022. He is also eligible for the World Junior Championships in 2024.

Mitch Langborne won the U/20 800m and placed 3rd in the 1500m.

Max Luke won bronze in the 1500m on the first weekend of the championships, followed by gold in the U/15 3000m.

Austin Fernando-McHugh improved his 800m personal best by six seconds over the weekend to narrowly win the U/16 800m! He beat runners who had personal bests eight or nine seconds better than him prior to the championship. In the 400m event he also ran a personal best to finish fourth.

Logan Janetzki who has the World Junior 3km qualifying time finished fourth in the 3km and fifth in the 1500m against very strong opposition.

Zach Sandison placed fourth in discus, won bronze in hurdles and came fifth in Javelin.

One of our top performers was Hugo Hanak, who competed in the open 400m hurdles and finished fifth in a time of 0.2 seconds outside the World Junior time and a 48.13 in the 400 metres flat U/20 Championship.

Amber Louw won her first Victorian State medal after six years of competing at the Championships. Finishing third in the U/20 800m.

Lachie Hicks finished fourth in the 400m and qualified for the National Championships.

Daniel Chiba Lynch finished fourth in a very competitive U/17 800m.

Freddie Barrett from Year 6 gained valuable racing experience, making the final heat of the U/14 800m as the only U/13.

Jones Gorton finished sixth in the 3000m.

Livy Da Costa-Alves finished fourth in the U/17 3km race.

James Gibbs, Magnus Wood and Ysmene Ostik-Smith all showed tremendous courage to compete to the best of their ability.

A dozen Wesley College athletes will progress to compete at the National Championships in Sydney in late March to early April.
