Physical Education teacher at Wesley’s Elsternwick campus, Clint Perrett, has become the fourth person to win The Sunday Age City2Sea 15 kilometre fun run. On what turned out to be Melbourne’s wettest day of the year, Clint and 12,000 other participants braved the elements to raise close to $295,000 for charities such as the Leukaemia Foundation and Make-A-Wish Australia.

A professional marathon runner, Clint won the race in just 46 minutes. He was thrilled with his time as he was “aerodynamically limited this year, due to sporting a poor attempt at a moustache!” Proceeds from Clint’s fundraising efforts in the lead up to the race will go towards Movember, which aims to raise awareness for men’s mental and physical health during the month of November.

Clint has been running since the age of 10, progressing through 800 metre and 1500 metre events, before being drawn to the challenge of running a full marathon. His favourite event to date has been the London Marathon, which was the first marathon he ever completed. Clint says “the atmosphere, the build-up and the crowd was the best he has ever experienced”.

The Berlin Marathon and the New York Marathon are the ultimate events in Clint’s eyes and he would especially love to compete in Berlin, which is the home of the current world marathon record for men.

Wesley College congratulates Clint on an outstanding achievement.
