At dawn on 25 April 1915, members of the Australian and New Zealand Army Corps - some of them students at Wesley College when they enlisted - landed on the beaches of Gallipoli in Turkey. It was the first major military operation by Australian and New Zealand forces during World War I.
The Gallipoli campaign was a catastrophe with heavy casualties on both sides, but over a century later, we come together to remember the courage, mateship and sacrifice of the ANZACS and all who have fought and died serving our country.
They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them.
Lest we forget.
See how our students and staff commemorated Anzac Day at each campus.
