It helps Year 7 students hit the ground running as they embark on their secondary school journey. Beyond settling into new routines, it’s about making sure every student feels confident, connected and ready to take on the opportunities and challenges Year 7 presents.
A key part of the program involves helping them master the many IT portals that are an essential part of their learning experience. The result? Increased engagement, more confidence, and a classroom full of students who feel empowered to navigate the digital world.
In the afternoons, students can engage in group activities that are all about connection. No screens, no distractions - just face-to-face interactions. The focus is on helping students form friendships, build trust and develop a sense of belonging.
Connect and Conquer was preceded by another amazing event that helped set the tone for ‘the new kids’: Solo Sparks. This afternoon event was a warm welcome for new Year 7 students who do not come from feeder schools. Smiling faces and enthusiastic greetings were just the beginning, as new friendships blossomed.
‘I recommend it for all new students who are scared or nervous to make new friends,’ said new Year 7 student Jocelyn.
We look forward to the growth and development of our Year 7s.
