Achievements large and small

The Middle School production was able to be presented to a live audience at the start of term

With the announcement of yet another lockdown extension, there is no doubt that feelings of disappointment, anger and even grief are resonating with Melburnians young and old alike.

While these feelings are valid, we must not lose sight of the horizon. There have been some outstanding achievements, performances and sporting events across our campuses this past term. At the start of term,  Years 7 to 9 students at our St Kilda Road Campus were finally able to present the 2021 Middle School play to a live audience in Week 1 of Term 3 (a tad later than originally planned). The Prep class at the Glen Waverley Campus was able to commemorate their 100th day of learning in the Junior School with purple and gold cupcakes and the students at the Elsternwick Campus were able to experience their first session with artist in residence Katrina Frazer!

While we may not be able to witness such grand achievements first-hand at the moment, there are small achievements taking place every day in our kitchens, living rooms, home offices and wherever else you may be working during this time of lockdown. Our students are learning about the world, figuring out how to solve that maths puzzle that has been stumping them for the past week, or how to play a new tune on their instrument.

The flurry of life that is our students and staff will return to each of our campuses, but in the meantime, we must remember that it is ok not to be ok, to ask for help and to reach out to your friends and family. Hang in there, Wesley Community.
