The awards ceremony not only acknowledged the outstanding results of individual students, but also payed tribute to principals, teachers and families, who all play an invaluable role in supporting and encouraging students during their VCE studies.
Callum’s VCE Music - Technical Production teacher, Daniel Davies, says “It was great to see Callum recognised for all of his hard work. He is a talented student, and also has a great work ethic.”
Daniel explains that “The score was derived from the three School-assessed Coursework (SAC) results. The first SAC was to record and mix two songs using different techniques. Callum recorded the school Soul Band and a string quartet. The second SAC was to produce a detailed document explaining the setup and running of a public address system for an event. The third SAC was setting up and mixing live events, one of which was the campus Jazz Night.”
Music - Technical Production is just one of three VCE Music subjects that is offered to Wesley’s senior students. As its name suggests, the technical aspects of the music industry, including live sound production and recording studio production, are part of the course.
Callum is continuing his music performance studies on a scholarship at Monash University, combining Music with Law.
Wesley congratulates him and wishes him all the best for the future.
