On Thursday 29 and Friday 30 August 2019 we are hosting an Indigenous Languages Forum at the Yiramalay/Wesley Studio School site in the Kimberley. This honours 2019 as the United Nations International Year of Indigenous Languages.

Indigenous languages forum event

The Forum celebrates the 14 different Indigenous languages spoken at Yiramalay, and the importance of language and culture for every Yiramalay student coming from across the top of Australia. The program will include presentations and cultural workshops highlighting the importance of language and learning on Bunuba country.

A new Yiramalay Indigenous Languages policy will be launched at the Forum by the Bunuba elders.
