Children’s Book Week
Children’s Book Week was celebrated with joy across Australia and the College. The lead up to it included students busily reading through the shortlisted books, voting for books they think will win. It was a particularly exciting time for our Junior school students who decorated their doors to tie in with their favourite books and crafted displays for the student-led conferences. Students also had fun with face painting and learning about Japanese storytelling from Bernard Caleo.
This year’s book week theme is ‘Find your treasure’ and students were delighted to see Perform Education’s award-winning interactive production ‘Treasure Hunt!’ that explored the issues of sustainability and our relationship with the natural environment. The highlight of Children’s Book Week is of course the book assembly where everyone enjoyed dressing up as their favourite literary character.
