Living at learning

Our innovative, student-centred boarding program is open to domestic students in Years 7 to 12 and to international students from Years 9 to 12.  From the courses on offer to the architecture and location of the facility, everything has been designed to further enhance student learning.

Located at our Glen Waverley Campus, our state-of-the-art boarding facility provides a safe, supportive and enriching home away from home.

Student wellbeing

Wesley boarding residential staff

Wesley College boarding places student wellbeing at the heart of its program. With live-in mentors, academic supervisors, health professionals and counsellors, boarders receive personalised care and guidance so they feel safe, connected and confident.

A strong sense of community is fostered through shared celebrations, nutritious meals, and wellbeing practices, ensuring every boarder belongs and develops independence and resilience.

Academic pathways and support
Academic Support

All students complete the International Baccalaureate Middle Years Program in Years 7 to 10, before choosing between two educational pathways for their final years:

  • International Baccalaureate Diploma Program (IB DP)
  • Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE)

Students are supported through structured evening and weekend programs that help boarders consolidate their daily learning. Small group tutorials and individual learning assistance provided by expert mentors and experienced College teaching staff  support boarders in completing homework and assignments.

Regular communication with and between the students, their teachers and boarding staff means that academic, social and emotional wellbeing is supported inside and outside the classroom.

Weekend activities
Weekend Activities

After the end of a busy school week, students unwind with games and activities, which commence on Friday nights and continue throughout the weekend. This includes compulsory Saturday morning sport alongside day students and bespoke recreational activities for boarders such as cultural excursions around Melbourne, festivals and events, games nights, quizzes, school socials, cinema screenings and karaoke. Boarders can also learn new skills through barista and first aid courses, as well as learn to drive programs.

Boarding Room

Hear from our boarders about their experience

I wanted to experience boarding school and everything it had to offer. I knew it would provide greater opportunities, and already I have been able to play touch football in my first term here, take an elective design class and create my own night light, and learn both the glockenspiel and drums in music. With a wider curriculum and more subject choices available, I will have the opportunity to study subjects that may not have been offered to me otherwise. I have also enjoyed access to excellent facilities and play hockey in the APS league and with the Waverley Hockey Club.

Evie - Year 8, Hamilton

Staff constantly go above and beyond to support our children, fostering a strong sense of belonging. It has truly become a place where my daughter feels supported, connected, and completely at home.
