From deep in the remote Western Australian outback, the Yiramalay Studio School has been bringing about positive change through education since 2010.
Born out of a partnership between Wesley College and the Bunuba community of the Kimberley in Western Australia, the school’s purpose is to create a better Australia through respect, community-mindedness and reconciliation.
The Studio School’s unique educational approach bridges the cultural divide between Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal Australia and delivers a learning experience that transcends culture and location.
The Studio School provides new pathways for Aboriginal students to access mainstream education. For Wesley College students in Year 10, the Studio School offers an opportunity to live and learn side by side with and from their Australia’s first people.
